Weekly Workshops are held every Tuesday 6pm-8pm at The Comic's Lounge, 26 Errol St, North Melbourne. This is where comics have the opportunity to workshop new material and new comics start learning the craft of Stand-Up comedy. Every week a special guest speaker gives advice and talks about their career in comedy.
Saturday Sessions. As of 29 Saturday August 2009 we are launching the first of our new intensive comedy workshops. These sessions will be held monthly in the Wintergarden room at the Exford Hotel (199 Russell st, Melbourne) and are an extension of our weekly workshops.
The first Saturday session will feature Greg Fleet (if you’ve been hiding under a rock his bio follows) who will discuss and workshop 'the evolution of a joke'. The session will run from 10am to 4pm (with a lunch break of approximately an hour in the middle).
The Saturday session will expect participants to perform their material in the morning (please note you will only have 3 minutes, so you will need to come prepared). You will then receive feedback and have a chance to develop the performed material later in the day. Participants will also have a chance to ask Fleet some questions, so come armed with a few questions regarding the art of comedy.
The Saturday session is $55 if booked and paid by Tuesday August 25th . Bookings made after this date will be $70. There are limited places so it is recommended that you book early.
