Why are we we called Devils? Well its nothing to do with the occult but rather we think that in order to produce good comedy you have to "dance with the devil" a little bit. That doesn't mean "literally dancing with Satan" For all we know he's probably not a very good dancer considering he has hooves for feet. As a matter of fact we don't even believe the devil exists. (If he does sorry about the last statement)
But we digress.
All great comedy has to touch on things that are outside so social norm to confront peoples fears and make light of them. All of the greatest comedy performers have done this from Charlie Chaplin, Cheech and Chong, Billy Connelly, Steve martin, George Carlin, Ricky Gervais, Mel Brookes, Lenny Bruce, Phyllis Diller, Joan Rivers, Bill Hicks just to name a few, all these people have pushed the envelope of what's acceptable and that's how we see comedy; not something to be water down like cheap scotch. Something to be savoured like 25yr old single malt.
We bring the best of this free thinking style to the stages of Melbourne and beyond. The people that perform with the workshop shows are the cream of the bunch.
When you see a Devils Show you will be up close and personal with comedians who's ground breaking styles will shape the form of comedy in the future.
